Our summer camp program is filled
with lots of hands-on activities designed to teach the students all
about horses and features tons of actual riding time. Our instructors
combine their knowledge and skills of professional horse training &
elementary education to create a safe, fun-filled learning environment.
All
riders will ride one hour per day. Riders will learn basic control of the horse in the saddle of their
choice; exercises in moving the horse forward and stopping, turning and
circling, and riding the sitting and posting trot will be discussed.
Participants will develop correct riding positions through guided explanations,
exercise techniques and demonstrations. Riders will also learn horse management
skills such as bandaging, clipping, basic first aid, and stable management.
Don’t worry if you
have never ridden a horse before, because there will be a variety of
different activities offered for students of ALL skill levels. What
could be better than a day at the barn with all your friends, riding
horses, playing fun games and learning all about your favorite sport!
All ages welcome!!!!
Camp will be Monday through Friday from 9:00-1:00 after-care will be available for an additional charge.
* campers need to bring a bag lunch, lots of water, & sun screen
* proper riding attire required (boots, long pants) helmets are provided, but you may also bring your own (like a bike helmet).
* campers will need to wear their Golden Gait Riding Stable t-shirt.
